These ballistic cut vests are made from three layers of ballistic material. They are sewn with open layers to make them harder for the hog to cut. The bay vests have velcro to first fit the dog and then two 2-ply nylon straps to keep it in place. They also have reflective on both sides and a hog hunter patch. The full vest has the same features as the bay vest, but they have three straps and they also have a cut out underneath for male dogs.
This cut vest offers your dog the ULTIMATE protection. It features three layers of ballistic fabric like our standard cut vests and also has a layer of cordura fabric. It also has a extra buckle strap at the neck, but sizes below medium will only have 3 straps. This vest is now available if the full and 1/2 model. All straps will be black and the reflective will be the color of the vest that you choose, except the black will have orange straps and reflective.
This is our standard cut vest with a collar sewn onto it. This keeps from having any open space between the collar and vest. This is available in any size collars and it can be added to any full or 1/2 standard cut vest.
Want to know why we choose ballistic nylon over Kevlar? When hunting hogs it is a given that the dog is either going to sweat or get into water. Kevlar loses its effectiveness when it gets wet. We have some competitors that say this isn't true and that it is more effective than the ballistic nylon. We are located only 35 miles from one of the plants that make the bullet proof vests and they told us that Kevlar is ONLY effective in multiple layers, but is not effective if exposed to UV light and water.
